FAQ

Below are some questions I get asked frequently. If you still have questions, feel free to contact me via the contact form or at [email protected]!

1. Do you ship to the USA?

Yes, shipping to the US is possible, at least according to the current situation.

I checked DHL’s guidelines but couldn’t find anything conclusive regarding whether shipping costs are always excluded when determining the de minimis threshold. Some third-party sources treat shipping costs as part of the parcel value. Because customs regulations in the US are currently changing, I can’t guarantee exactly how a customs official will treat the total declared value (goods + shipping). However, I will always aim to declare everything transparently and assist you as much as possible with information.

In the unlikely event that shipping to the US becomes impossible for any reason, I will, of course, fully refund all US orders.

2. Are group orders possible to save on shipping costs?

Yes, definitely! It can already be worth asking when ordering two books, especially for expensive shipping options to the US or Asia. Unfortunately, BigCartel does not allow me to input the actual weight of items, so I have to calculate shipping using an additional “item” method.

Because real shipping costs depend on the weight of the parcel, for example, two A5 books can fit into a 2 kg package. Three books, however, cannot, which is why I have to add extra shipping for each additional book in their system. For two A4 books, the next shipping tier (up to 5 kg) applies immediately, but three books can still fit into a 5 kg parcel.

If you want to order more than one book and are unsure whether you can save on shipping, feel free to contact me – I’m happy to help!

3. Will anyone be able to see what’s inside the package?

No. I will make sure all packages are shipped in neutral packaging (even if it’s not as pretty). For the customs description, I will use neutral terms such as “book” and “postcards,” so no one will be able to guess the content.

4. I’m moving in the next few weeks. How can I make sure the package reaches me?

In this case, I can offer to update the shipping address shortly before dispatch. You will receive an email from me about a week in advance letting you know when the shipment is about to go out.

Ideally, you should provide an address in your order that will definitely be reachable in 2–3 months – for example, a friend or someone you trust to accept the package on your behalf.
